DEATH OF BOY AT WELLINGTON.’
METHYLATED SPIRITS ACCIDENT.

The accidental explosion of a can of j methylated spirits used in Pfmung a blow-lamp was responsible for the deatn. of William Henry Bryant, an employee ■ in the Wellington City Corporations , electricity department, according to the j verdict given by the coroner, Mr. L. Gilbertson, at an inquest held to-day. >■ Alexander Fraser, acting-foreman , the winding branch of the electricity department, said he instructed Bryant to light the blow-lamp. A few minutes . . later he heard an explosion and saw the K boy lying on the floor enveloped in r flames. James Richard Houston, another employee, said he saw the explosion but ? could not be sure if the lamp had been , previously lit or not. He had heard < Fraser warn the boy about the use of methylated spirits.
