PLEA FOR MR. HUGHES
RECONSIDERATION WANTED. MANY PROTESTS RECEIVED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 10 p.m. Canberra, Nov. 7. Friends of Mr. W. M. Hughes in the Government intend to seek reconsideration of his case with a view to his return to the Cabinet, says the Sun’s representative. It is understood there is a large body of public opinion, including returned soldiers, on Mr. Hughes’ side, and the Prime Minister has received a number of protests against what is described as precipitate action in excluding him from the Ministry.
