GAMES AT SYDNEY
SATISFACTION IN AUSTRALIA. STIR IN ATHLETIC CIRCLES., By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Nov. 6. The announcement that the British Empire Games will be held at Sydney in 1938 created a stir and great pleasure in sporting and athletic circles in all parts of Australia. Mr. E. S. Marks, chairman of the Australian British Empire Games Committee, expressed delight. “It is wonderful news,” he said. He felt sure that the games would be conducted equally as .well at Sydney as in any other part of the Empire. There was no doubt that Australia and New Zealand would provide bigger teams, which would to some extent compensate for the smaller teams, which must’' be expected from distant parts of the Empire. •. ■ Mr. Marks added that a meeting of the full board of control would be held at Sydney shortly to draw up the programme and regulations for submission to the Empire conference to . be held at the time of the Olympic .Games in 1936.
