FISHER WANTED
HAWERA BOXING PRELIMINARY. STIRLING-HUTCHINS CONTEST, Arrangements for a professional welterweight boxing contest at Hawera between Stirling, New Zealand champion, and Frank Hutchins, Eltham, on December 4 were made at a meeting of the Hawera Boxing Association last night. Mr. A. H. Guy presided. Mr. Alan Maxwell was appointed referee. If efforts are successful the association will stage as an additional attraction a bout between Fisher, Christchurch, and C. Gordon, this year’s and last year’s Jamieson Belt holders. It was decided that the bout should be of six twominute rounds. The secretary, Mr. S. R. Veitch was instructed to offer a liberal expense allowance in an endeavour to secure the services of Fisher. The action of the chairman in permitting the Hawera Football Club to use the association’s seats for a wrestling tournament was approved.
