GIFT EVENING TENDERED

TATARAIMAKA DISTRICT NEWS.

There was a representative gathering of residents at the Tataraimaka hall last Thursday when a gift evening was tendered to Miss Rita Cobham on the occasion of her approaching marriage to Mr. C. Williamson. Music for dancing was played by Misses K. and N. Goodin and Mr. S. Snowden was master of ceremonies. Items were given by Miss L. Knight (elocution) and Mr. Baird, Patua factory (songs). After supper, which was under the supervision of Mrs. M. Fabish, Mr. W. Young asked Miss Cobham to accept the gifts. Mr. Williamson replied on behalf of Miss Cobham.

Mr. Les Stronge has been indisposed for some weeks.

Mrs. S. E. Hawke has recovered from her recent illness.
