WOMEN’S FOURSOMES EVENT.
MRS. GREENLEES AND MISS WADE
Wellington, Last Night.
The New Zealand women’s championship golf foursomes event at the Heretaunga links to-day was won by a British pair, Mrs. Greenkes and Miss Wade, with a score of 77. Misses J. Horwell and Fleming were next with 79, followed by Miss J. Anderson (Britain) and Miss Hornabrook 80, Mrs. Walker and Miss Barton (Britain) 81. The best scores in the handicap foursomes were:—
Mrs. Jacobsen and Miss Stewart won on a count back.
South Island won the team’s match by 41 games to 31. Details are:— Miss O. Kay (North) and Miss V. Fleming (South), all square. Miss P. Helean (North) lost to Miss J. Horwell (South), 6 and ,5. Miss W. Barns Graham (North) lost to Miss B. Rutherford (South), 1 down. Mrs. E. F. Cook (North) lost to Mrs. J. C. Templar (South), 3 and 1. Mrs., R. S. Fullerton Smith (North) beat Miss M. Beadel (South), 7 and 5. Mrs. H. C. Collinson (North' beat Miss J. Stevenson (South), 4 and 3. Mrs. Stokt (North) lost to Mrs. McKillop (South), 5 and 4. Mrs. E. L. Baker (North) beat Mrs. McCarthy (South), 5 and 4.
