Herr Theodore Hofius, a Prussian chemist, has invented a process to keep milk fresh by placing it in stainless steel containers and pumping in oxygen. Experiments carried out under the supervision of the State Hygienic Institute were entirely successful. Milk, buttermilk and cream were quite fresh after three weeks, and Herr Hofius claims that the time could be extended to two months.
