CHANGE TO LEAGUE?
GEORGE HARRISON, OPUNAKE.
RUMOUR OF TERMS OFFERED. There is a persistent rumour that George Harrison, the well-known Opunake, Taranaki representative and Maori All Black Rugby forward, is to change over to the League code and will sail for England next week. It is reported that Harrison has received an offer from England which provides for the payment of his fare to England and a cash payment of £lOO on his arrival. He is also to receive a payment of £3 10s a week, together with a bonus of £3 for each match played anc £3 10s for each win. The length of the engagement is not stated. It is understood that if the offer was acceptable to Harrison he was to report at Auckland on October 21 with a view to sailing by the Remuera, which will leave Auckland on October 26.
Harrison left Opunake during the week-end for Wanganui, being called there owing t, the death of a near relative. It is understood that before leaving for Wanganui he intimated to a friend at Opunake that it was his inten-' lion to accept the offer.
