Mrs. Hurlstone, New Plymouth, is staying with her daughter, Mrs. A Sinclair, Egmont Village. Mrs. J. A. junior branch of the Women’s Institute, in honour of Mesdames Torrens, McGowan and Wanklyn. The president, Miss F. Codd, thanked the guests of honour for their help in producing recent plays. Miss Codd asked performers to present the guests with bouquets. Mrs. Wanklyn replied. Mesdames Lindsay and Codd were presented with bouquets. A play, “The New Poor” was performed by the Misses H. McLaggan, I. Heal, M. Feaver, N. Nodder and M‘. Codd. Mesdames Nodder and Cramer contributed songs, and tap-dances were given by the Misses D. Reesby and N. Nodder. Miss Dorothy Riding was the accompanist.

Women members of the Inglewood Golf Club spent an enjoyable time on the links on Monday afternoon when they played a friendly match with the women of the Stratford club.
