OPENING OF TENNIS SEASON. - / There was a good attendance .at the opening day of the Tah p ra Tennis Club, many olayers from the Kohuratahi and Whangamomona clubs at'°nding. The president, Mr. E. Robertson, performed the opening ceremony. A Yankee tournament was held, the winners being Miss M. Bacon and Mr. Jim Ewart, both of Kohuratahi. The women’s division held a dance in the hall in aid of the children's Christmas tree fund. There was a good attends ance. Mrs. C. McCutchan thanked those who had assisted to make the gathering a success. A competition for ,a clock was won by Mr- A- M. Gill, Whangamomona. Mr. J. O’Keefe was master of ceremonies and the tnusie was supplied by Stockwell’s orchestra. The school committee is running a series of flag five hundred evenings tq obtain funds for the annual picniq. The winners of the last evening were Mrs, McCutchan, Messrs. M. Grant, Marshall and O’Keefe. The concrete bridge at the Tahora end of the Moki saddle is now completed, and as soon as the filling of the approaches is completed the bridge will be ready for traffic.
