LEPPERTON BADMINTON

CONCLUSION OF THE SEASON. The Lepperton Badminton Club held the final night on Friday. All club members were present. Mr. Allan Old presented a cup to Mrs. Mickleson for the most improved first-year player. The club championships resulted in Mrs. Mickleson and A. Hall winning. Mr. Allan Old has presented a cup for the next season to be won three times in succession or five times at intervals, when it will become the property of the winner. A Yankee tournament was held during the evening, the winners being Mrs. Mickleson and John Wallace and the runners-up B. Crofsky and H. Roberts. The president, Miss Gorrie, thanked all the members who had helped to make th. season successful. Mrs. Mickleson proposed a vote of thanks to Miss Gorrie and commented on the vast amount of work Miss Gorrie had done for the club. Personal News. Mrs. Matthews, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. L. Freestone, Mountain Road. Mrs. Ormandy left on Friday to spend a holiday at Dunedin. Miss A. Harvey is on holiday. Miss W. Buchanan, Palmerston North, is spending a holiday with friends in the district. Miss Pearl Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Roberts, gained highest honours in the recent senior examina,tions in music in Taranaki.
