CRASH INTO TELEGRAPH POLE.

FAILURE TO NEGOTIATE CORNER.

James Lewis Calwell, aged 23, instruct tor in the Defence Department, son of Senior-Sergeant Calwell, of Christchurch, was riding a motor-cycle this morning when he crashed into a telegraph pole at Ponsonby and was killed instantly. He apparently lost control of the machine while negotiating a corner.
