HIGHEST SINCE 1928
PRICES FOR FAT BULLOCKS.
£2O TOPS SALE IN SOUTHLAND.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night.
Not since 1928 have prices for heavyweight bullocks at the Lorneville stock sale equalled those paid to-day. There was a short yarding, butchers’ demands were more than could be met and several country buyers helped to make the sale an exceedingly brisk one. The top price was £2O 7s 6d compared with £l3 10s last week but improvement for medium quality entries averaged a little more than 30s a head.
