TE KAWAU GOLF CLUB BALL. Members of the Te Kawau Golf Club and their friends were favoured with a perfect night for the annual ball on Friday. There was a large crowd of dancers, including many visitors. The ball was a big success, socially and financially, and the secretary, Miss Fuller, and her committee received much pfaise for the arrangements. The hall was decorated with greenery and streamers of jubilee colours. McNeill’s orchestra provided dance music. The winners of novelty dances were: Monte Carlo, Mrs. I. Johnson and Mr. Jacksen; mystery one-step, Miss P. Welch and partner; balloon waltz, Mrs. I. Johnson and Mr. Clegg. Messrs. J. Hamilton, J. Cannell and B. Calvert had charge of the dance programme. Mr. J. Cannell, in the absence of the president of the dub, presented cups won during the season as follows: Moyes Cup, Mrs. Southcott; Bower Cup, Mr. H- Collins. A golf match was held during the month, the winners being Miss Fuller and J. Cannell. Closing day was held on Sunday, when visitors were present from New Plymouth and Bell Block. Driving and putting competitions were held.
Mr. Aitken, of the factory staff, has resumed duty after receiving medic*? treatment for a poisoned hand. Miss Frances O’Sullivan has returned to Wellington after spending a holiday with Mrs. F. O’Sullivan. Mrs. Kendrick is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Cyril Rogers, Mokau River. The Rev. Father Doughlas, New Plymouth, Is visiting the district this week.
