Mrs. G. Baylis is visiting her daughter, Mrs. D. Gyde, Sanson. . | Opunake visitors to the Pungarehu golf ball on Friday night were Mesdames Brennan, Fraser, Watt, Marcroft, Ritchie, Gunson and Misses Trotter and Geary. Mrs. R. J. Morris was hostess at an afternoon at her home, Eltham Road, on Thursday. Afternoon tea was served on the lawn. The guests admired the many beautiful blooms in the garden. Mrs. Morris wore a saxe blue figured crepe frock. Her guests were Mesdames Jenkin, Watt, Ritchie, Dalrymple, Mantey, Henderson, Hammond, Burton, Sharp, C. A. Smith, Sharp, senr., Lambie, Downey, Griffin, Thomas, Stevenson and Brophy and Misses L. Anderson and Alison Smith. Mesdames R. Ritchie and A. Lambie were' hostesses at four tables of bridge at the home of Mrs. Ritchie on Thursday night. The room was decorated with bowls of ranunculi and azaleas. Mrs Ritchie wore a gown of electric blue velvet and Mrs. Lambie a frock of pale pink crepe with a nut brown silk velvet bridge coat. The prize for the highest score was won by Mrs. Thomas .and the consolation prize by Mrs. R. Jenkin.
