INDIA CONSTITUTION
QUESTION OF CONSTITUENCIES. INVESTIGATIONS BY COMMITTEE. (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Sept. 12. Sir Laurie Hammond, chairman of the committee appointed at the end of July to make recommendations concerning the constituencies in the future Indian federal and provincial legislatures left London for India to-day accompanied by the secretary of the committee, Mr. J. G. Laithwaite. Two other members who are in India are Mr. Justice Rao and Mr. Justice Din Muhammed.' The committee will start work at Simla on September 25 and will thereafter tour the various provinces. Sir Laurie will also pay a special visit to Burma. The committee is expected to submit its report at the beginning of next year. It is understood that a considerable amount of prepara + ~”” work has already been carried .out in India, which should much facilitate the task there.
