Popular theories were upset at a meeting of the special medicine section of the British Medical Association congress today \vhen some of the world's most eminent medical men decreed that obesity was not due to over-eating. Dieting was dangerous in many cases of obesity and exercise was an over-rated element in its treatment. Lord Horder presided. Professor C. G. Lambie, Sydney, said the beneficial effect on reducing weight by one game of squash racquets would be counteracted by a pint of beer or two cocktails.
