(By Telegraph—Special Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night.
An increase of 31 per cent, in the number of radio receiving licenses for 1934 is the most outstanding fact disclosed by the annual report of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board, which was presented to the House of Representatives today. This increase brought the number of license-holders to 148,824 —9.60 per cent, of the population. The report shows an excess of income over expenditure of £3936 after the transference of £60,000 to the accumulated fund and after provision for depreciation of assets. Expenditure on programmes during the year was £46,167— £6717 more than the amount spent in 1933.
A programme analysis provides an interesting part of the report.
