The weather will still be cold and boisterous, with rain in most districts and further heavy falls in places, especially on the east coast, says the 4 p.m. forecast. Snqw is probable on the ranges and snow or hail showers are likely also on parts <Sf the low country in eastern areas. Conditions will be mainly fair in Westland. An intense cyclonic depression has been crossing New Zealand, the centre to-day being east of the North Island. An anticyclone covers eastern Australia and the western Tasman Sea, the highest pressure being south-east of Tasmania. Westerly winds are probable at first in the far north and otherwise strong southerly winds to gales will prevail, moderating somewhat to-morrow.
