UNIQUE CELEBRATION
WEDDING AND ANNIVERSARIES. TRIPLE EVENT AT HUNTLY. Mr. and Mrs. J. McGill, Huntly, celebrated their golden wedding on Tuesday, when there was a large family reunion. A feature of the occasion was that it coincided with the silver wedding celebrations of their eldest daughter, Mrs. J. O’Brien, of Huntly, and the wedding of their youngest daughter, Janet, to Mr. Ernest Harden Powell, Te Kauwhata. Mr. and Mrs. McGill were married at Greymouth in 1885 and after living for 24 years in various parts of the West Coast they settled at Huntly, where they have resided ever since. Mr. McGill has been connected with the coal mining industry all his life, but has now retired. There were 13 children, 11 of whom survive, as follows: Mrs. J. O’Brien (Huritly). Mrs. D. Duffy (Whangarei), Mrs. G. Liddle (Huntly), Mrs. ’A.’ Turtori (Huntly), Mrs.’ E. H. Powell (Te Kauwhata), Mr. Thomas McGiir(Wellingtoh), Mr.’ James McGill (Arapuni), MN David McGill ' (Napier), Mr. Morgdn' McGill (Arapupi), Mr.'Guinlan McGill (Huntly). Theite are 22 grandchildren.
