OMANA ARRIVES

VESSEL DIRECT FROM MELBOURNE. NOT AFFECTED BY STRIKE. Direct from Melbourne, the Union Company steamer Omana arrived at New Plymouth yesterday morning with a cargo consisting chiefly of pollard. The ship cleared the medical and Customs Department examinations without delay. The trip was uneventful. The vessel left Melbourne on August 27 and good weather was experienced until Monday, when strong easterly winds were encountered. The Omana sailed from Melbourne the clay after the shipping strike was settled but as the crew were on New Zealand articles the ship was not affected, Tho Omana sailed last night for Auck--land.
