COUNCIL OF WOMEN

NEW ZEALAND CONFERENCE. CABLE SENT TO GENEVA. By Telegraph—Press Association, runedin, Sept. 4. Thirty-three delegates attended the thirteenth conference of the National Council of Women of New Zealand, which opened to-day. Miss C. E. Kirk (Wellington) presided. The delegates were accorded a civic reception by the Mayor. The conference decided to send a cable to Mr. R. A. Eden and the Council of the League of Nations earnestly praying for the success of the League’s efforts for peace. It was resolved to convey by cable to the National Council of Women, Belgium, the condolence -f the New Zealand women in Belgium’s loss of their Queen. Miss Kirk gave a presidential address on woman’s place and hex - part in the nation's councils.
