The delightful sunshine of the past few days, has caused everyone to think m terms of lighter clothing, and therefore the spring show of delightful styles for the forthcoming season, which were displayed at McGruers Ltd., New Plymouth, last night, was a great success. Music was supplied by Miss Vinnie Ross string orchestra. This is to be a tailored season, luckily, for nothing a woman puts on, is half so distinctive, elegant, or practical as a good suit. Certainly nothing is more becoming to the figure. The frocks were exclusive design, ana some interesting little models which have been imported from America, were shown. The newest in materials for spring wear were displayed, and florals, coin spot, and the semi-plain crepey weaves will apparently be very popular again this season. Tailored knit wear is always smart and was shown in frocks and suits, which featured the newest in trimmings. The millinery section was the scene of great interest. Picture hats appear to have come back into their own. and are certainly most becoming to almost every time. Charming model hats were a feature of the show. Lightweight felts, new straws with eye veil and French .flower finish, pedaline straws which feature softly folded crowns, and the new; onion straws with the ’ large flattering ! brims will all get their share of popularity during the spring and summer months The principals of McGruers Idft no stone unturned in their efforts to make their spring show a success and; the large attendance showed how popular ibis event is with the public. }'
