BIGGEST MANOEUVRES SINCE WAR. “TURNING POINT IN HISTORY.” By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. Berlin, Aug. 31. The biggest manoeuvres held in Germany since the war, which are officially described as “the. turning point in the history of the German army,” will be carried out between September 2 ■ and September 9 at Luneburg,. Hanover. They will include, combined army and air force exercises designed to throw back an. advancing enemy of double strength. The . manoeuvres will be watched by Herr Hitler and General von Blomberg.

“For the first time since the shameful imposition of Versailles,” says the official statement, “Germany can show again a large army equipped with the weapons that modern war ■ demands.” . The' manoeuvres area will be closed lo traffic. Daily accounts will be given through the Press and wireless. •
