nationalising hydro scheme. MANAWATU BOARD IN FAVOUR. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. When the report of the Government committee on bulk charges was before the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board today a decision was reached that it would be more satisfactory for the Government to take over all reticulation and standby plants in the Dominion and carry the hydro-electrical scheme forward on a straight-out national basis. It was felt that the new tariff proposals of the committee did not favour rural boards.
