MAN’S LOSS OF USE OF HAND. NAPIER COURT AWARDS £lOOO. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. Judgment for £lOOO, to include the sum of £9l already received, was awarded by Mr. Justice Reed in the Supreme Court to-day to Norman Henry Judd against the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Board as compensation for injuries received by Judd when he was struck on the right hand by an axe while in the employ of the board. Judd claimed'that his injuries, involving total loss of the use of the right hand, were due to the negligence of the Rivers Board. The total amount claimed by Judd was £3267.
