Ramson, for the hunt club races. Mrs. R. Millward left yesterday to spend a holiday at Wanganui. Miss Barbara Summer, who has been the guest of' Mrs. N. Rix-Trott, Marton, has returned to New Plymouth. Miss Irene Hirst, Wellington, is visiting her mother, Mrs. T. G. New Plymouth. Miss Mary Latter and Miss Phyllis Lyall, on the nursing staff of the New Plymouth hospital, are spending a holiday at the Franz Josef glacier. HAWERA MisS Hazel York, Matapu, is Mrs. R. Gosnell’s guest for the competitions, in which she is Competing. Mrs. C. J. Carmody, Wanganui, is visiting her mother, Mrs. F. P. Monaghan, for the'competitions festival. < Mrs. R. P. Baigeht and family are visiting relatives and friends in Hawke’S Bay and at Wellington.

Mrs. W. Mundy, who has been spending several weeks with her mother, Mrs. C. B. Griffiths, visited Mrs. Honeyfield, senr., on Monday en route to ton.Miss Helen Simmons is visiting Wanganui. Miss Janet Train is the guest of Mrs. I. Honeyfield. ■Mrs. Holmes, Marton, is the guest of Mrs. Honeyfield, “Park Farm.” Mrs. Noel Harding, Hastings, formerly of Patea, is the guest Of Mrs. W. F. Shields. Mrs. W. Patterson is visiting New Plymouth for the races. Mrs. W. F. Shields and Miss Vera Shields leave on Friday to visit Mrs. Skinner, Cambridge. Miss Eileen Homer was a week-end visitor to her sister, Mrs. W. F. Shields, Miss M. King, Wellington, is staying with Mrs. A. Hilliar. The . Misses Ensor are the guests of Mrs. W. H. Walton. Carmichael, who has been Spending a short holiday at Wellington, has returned. Mrs. D. Hutchinson Was hostess at an enjoyable gift afternoon last Thursday in honour of Miss V. Redward, whose marriage takes place shortly. The afternoon was passed pleasantly with items and competitions. Miss M. Knight has returned to Wellington after a visit to Mrs. B. Foreman, Tikorangi. WOMEN’S DIVISION Pungarehu: Mrs. Harris presided over a good attendance at the August meeting. MiSS Winifred Rowe was welcomed as a new member. The treasurer, Mrs. J. C. Best, reported that as a result of the euchre party and dance the funds of the branch should be considerably augmented. Arrangements were completed for a “brlng-and-buy” afternoon. A competition arranged by Mesdames R. Copplestone and J. C. Best resulted in a tie for first place between Mrs'. J. D. Row? and Justine' Murphy. The hostesses were Mesdames Best and Coppiestone.
