JEFFERY HAS CLOSE CALL. In the semi-finals of the Tarurutangi championships during the week-end J. Jeffery had a close call, W- Short taking him to the 18th before having to admit defeat by one hole. In the other game A. Street beat D. Street 5 and 4 and will meet Jeffery in the final. G. W. HAMLIN WINS PURDIE CUP. FINAL ROUND AT WAITARA. The third and final round of the Purdie Cup was played on the Manakorihi Club’s links on Thursday and Saturday last, the winner being G. W. Hamlin with a score of 198. The runners-up were M.
