FIVE REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. WELLINGTON TEAM IN TARANAKI. The following players have been selected to represent Central Taranaki basketball players against Wellington, at Inglewood to-morrow:— Forwards: C. Spurdie, M. Wisnewski, B. Dombroski, J. Bristol emergency. Centres: N. Gyde, P. Crowe, P. Alexander. Defence: J. Campbell, M. Julian, E. Thomason, J. Blair emergency. The following players have been selected to represent Taranaki against Wellington for the Muir Cup at Inglewood on Saturday;— Forwards: L. Fox, M. Duffin, C. Spurdle, B. Dombroski (emergency). Centres: P. Crowe, N. Gyde, K. Goodin. Defence: M. Matangi (capt.), M. Julian, M. Fletcher, J. Campbell emergency. Fixtures for this week are:— Representative matches: This morning, Wellington v. southern division country, at Hawera; this afternoon, Wellington v. southern division city, at Hawera; to-morrow, Wellington v. central division, at Inglewood; Friday, Wellington v. coastal districts, at Rahotu; Saturday, Wellington v. Taranaki, at Inglewood. Clifton and Lepperton A will play off for the central division first grade, group 1 championship, at Inglewood to-morrow at 2 p.m. as a curtain-raiser to the Wellington v. central- division match. Mr. W. Spurdie will referee. All competition matches have been postponed. Championship points in the central division are:— Group 1, Senior.

Results of matches played last week included: Inglewood Kiwis 10 beat Egmont Village 9; Norfolk 30 beat Raleigh 9; Clifton 26 beat Huinga 1; Tuna 23 beat Midhirst 10.

B grade: Vogeltown beat West End by 23 to 2, Fitzroy I. beat Moturoa by 12 to 4, Central beat Inglewood by 23 to 0, West End beat Ingewood by 20 to 9,. Central beat Fitzroy I. by 9 to 8.
