SCHOOL BASKETBALL

TARANAKI COMPETITION PLAY. The Taranaki secondary school basketball competition was decided with recent matches, placing the Hawera Techrical High School at the head of the A grade. The B grade was won by NeW Plymouth Girls’ High School, while in the junior grade Stratford Technical High School and New Plymouth Girls’ High School tied. Hawera has won the A grade for seven of the nine years since the commencement of the competition. The matches were played on a home and away basis, each school playing each of the other schools twice. The table 6f pointe is:—
