Half-time was called with the goals 6—5 in Egmont Vi'lage’s favour. Soon after the commencement of the second spell Inglewood equalised the score. With only two minutes to go Egmont Village was leading 9—7, but it was then that Inglewood showed true attacking force and landed two goals in quick succession to equalise with only half a minute to go. Another strong attack by Kiwis on the call of time resulted in a goal which won it the central division championship.
