' Mrs. J. Fleming and Miss Betty Fleming arrived home last week-end, after spending two weeks at Wellington and Wanganui.

Mrs. W. Sharp spent last week-end at Mariaia, as the guest of Mrs. P. Instone.

Mrs. A, Heibqer lejt on Wednesday for Tahora, where- she will make her home. .

Mrs. H. Parkes was hostess, at three tables of bridge on Monday ’ night,, in honour of Mrs. A. Heibner, who. is leaving Opuhake. Mrs. Parkes received .the guests in a frock of midnight blue crepe, and black bridge coat. The prize, for the highest score was wo,- by Mrs. C. H. Marcroft. Those present were Mesdames Dalrymple, Watt, Jenkin, C, A. Smith, Ritchie, Marcroft, Donnelley, Mantey, Misses Thom, Butler and Cate, At an evening organised by the Opunake Tennis Club at the home of Mrs. H. Parkes, Mr. and Mrs. A. Heibner were presented with a gift from members in appreciation of their interest in the club. Games, competitions and dancing were enjoyed. '

. Mrs. D. Thomas was hostess on Tuesday evening at three tables, of mixed bridge in honour of Mr. and Mrs. L- S. Donnelley, who are leaving Opunake, The prize was won by Miss G. Butler. Mrs. Thonias received her guests in a frock pf Burgundy, crepe.
