DEATH OF MRS. J. E. MEULI

OKAIAWA RESIDENT FOR 20 YEARS. Miss Jessie Meuli, who died at her home “Alpen Rose” Okaiawa, yesterday, after a short illness, was the wife of Mr. J. Emil Meuli, and had been a resident of the district for the past 20 years. Mrs. Meuli, whose maiden name was Goss, was a member of a well-known Motueka family. A keen horticulturist, Mrs. Meuli herself tended the fine gardens which surround her home, being also a. keen supporter of the Okaiawa flower shows. She was a member of the Okaiawa Croquet Club, a past president of the Te Ngutu Ladies’ Golf Club, and was a prominent member of the Presbyterian Church guild. She is survived by her husband and tw r o sons, Maurice and Geoffrey, and one daughter, Madge, her surviving sisters being Mrs. R. S. Lee (Auckland), J. McDonald (Napier) and Mrs. H. Heath (Motueka).
