NEW TURF AT LORDS
DEPREDATIONS of grass grub. PARTS OF WICKET 150 YEARS OLD. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, July 25. Owing to extensive leatherjacket (grass grub) damage at Lords the- turf is being relaid during the winter. The Daily Telegraph states that parts of the wicket are 150 years Old. The playing area covers eight acres, but only the centre portion is being re-turfed-The cost is estimated at several thousand pounds.
