WITHDRAWAL OF INDEPENDENT. OPPOSITION TO GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph-Press Association. Pahiatua, July 13. Mr. C. Holmes Miller, Ngaturi, who several weeks ago announced himself an independent candidate for the Pahiatua seat, has now-withdrawn from the'field, leaving Sir Alfred Ransom and Mr. Gower (Labour). Mr. Miller stated that his withdrawal was influenced by the possibility of his efforts assisting to return the present member. He also feared that his own » political views were such that he had nttle faith in them being accepted in a somewhat Conservative constituency.
