SPLENDID HUNTING

EGMONT-WANGANUI HUNT. FINE SPORT AT MOUMAHAKI. Recognised as one of the best hunting areas, Moumajiaki cross roads gave the Egmont-Wanganui hunt the best run of the season on Saturday. The last few hunts have shown improvement in the pack and several good days have been enjoyed, and on Saturday riders were on the go right from the throw-off. The weather was fine with a cold wind blowing, but this was not noticed once a start was made. The scent was lying well and hounds stuck to the trail all the afternoon. Several very long runs were enjoyed and as there is an exceptionally large area of hunting country available the chase was a long and merry one.
