REV. ARCHDALL’S RESIGNATION. HEADMASTER OF KING’S COLLEGE. ' By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. “I have only one thing to say about myself and that is- that my resignation was not due to ill health,” said the Rev. H. K. Archdall, retiring headmaster of King’s College, at a farewell luncheon tendered by Anglican clergy. . Archbishop Averill had just concluded a long speech referring to the clergy’s sorrow. at Mr. Archdall’s ill health and the hope that a visit to England would restore him. Mr. Archdall in replying thanked the speakers for their remarks. He did not speak of himself until the end, when he said: “I have been trying to get away from this fellow Archdall. The only thing that I have to say is that my resignation is not due to ill health.” There was a moment of silence when Mr. Archdall sat down.
