NORTH TARANAKI MATCH. In the first game of the North Taranaki Card Association’s shield competition play at Waitara Brixton defeated Freezing Works by 22 games, the scores being: Brixton, cribbage 30, euchre 29, total 59; Freezing Works, cribbage 20, euchre 17, total 37. Shipping at Waitara. The auxiliary scow Tamahae left Waitara for Mokau on Wednesday and berthed again at Waitara on Thursday afternoon with a cargo of coal. The vessel discharged her cargo, and again sailed for Mokau at five o’clock on Friday morning.
