EGMONT RACES.
\ t : The ' Egmont Racing Club was very , fortunate in having good weather for both days of the autumn meeting. There vzas a crowd present surpassing anticipations and a holiday feeling prevailed, probably assisted by a large number of excursionists present from Auckland. The frockir g was very bright for late autumn and for the most part very smart, the tweeds and furs and felts combining smartness with comfort. Among the many visitors present were Mesdames S. C. Tonks (the president’s wife) wearing a handsome chocolate brown coat, with a large fur collar and a smart brown hat to match, IR. B. Douglas, W. McL’DOwje, J. Hawken, G. J. Bayley, C. H. Washer, J. FRANKLEY ROAD. Mrs. Thomas was hostess at an afternoon on Thursday. Those present were Mrs. Avery, Mrs. Lee, Mrs. P. Richardson, Mrs. W. Richardson, Mrs. Honeyfield, Miss Richardson, Miss Keightley. Miss Henry is a patient in the New Plymouth hospital.
