400 APPOINTMENTS APPROVED. CABINET AWAITING REPLIES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Cabinet has approved of the appointment of 400 justices of the peace. Making this announcement on Thursday, the Minister of Justice, the Hon. J. G, Cobbe, said the people concerned had been written to and asked whether they" would accept office, and it was expected their replies would be to hand in a few days’ time, when a list of the new appointments would be made available for publication.
