Evidence was heard before a magistrate against James Thomas McGinnity on a charge of negligently driving a car on the night of February 28, thereby causing bodily injury to Harry Kitchener Collins. The allegation is that McGinnity made off after the accident, which he must have known occurred, and that the accident arose from the speed at which the car was going when it crossed an The police, outlining the case, alleged that there were two girls in the car and when the accident occurred splintered glass was thrown over them. Evidence to this effect would be given and that the girls suggested to McGinnity to stop. A message boy who witnessed the accident gave evidence that after it took place the car skidded, slowed, then speeded away with the lights switched out. After an all-day hearing McGinnity was committed for trial.
