Miss A. Legg, Wanganui, has been visiting Stratford. Miss Mavis Cundy has returned to Wellington after a visit to Stratford as the guest of Mrs. L. P’enberthy. Miss E. Whitmore is visiting Toko and is the guest of Mrs. Goldup. Mrs. G. Carter Is paying a visit to the Auckland district.
Mrs. Turner, Christchurch, is visiting relatives at Stratford. ’ Mrs. Siddells, Opunake, is spending a holiday at Stratford.
Miss H. Bremner is visiting friends at Palmerston North. '
Mrs. Keat has returned to Remuera after a visit to Mrs. Max, Stratford. Mrs. A. Fazackerly has returned to Tahora after a visit to Waitara. Mrs. Beale is spending a holiday at Auckland.
Mrs. W. Henry, New Plyrnouth, is visiting Stratford, and is the guest of Mrs. G. Henry.
Miss Jean Jackson has returned to Stratford after a holiday at Mercury Bay, Auckland, Mrs. R. Fryday was a visitor to Mrs. Power, New Plymouth, for the races. Miss V. Sangster is making a visit to Wellington.
Miss M. Raynor, Cardiff, left on Friday night for a holiday at Tatanui. Miss Lorna Scholes returned to Te Awamutu on Friday night after a visit to Mrs. Gadsby.
Mrs. Hunt is spending her annual leave at Auckland.
An evening was spent at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Pollard on Wednesday, when Miss May Pollard gave a kitchen evening for Miss Ruth Clarke, who is to be married shortly. Items were given by Messrs. A. Kuch and Wehipehama. The winners of a competition were Miss R. Clarke and Mr. Wepehihama. Mrs. H. McCaskill gave a party for Miss Ruth Clarke on Thursday night in the parish hall, when many friends were present. Items were given by Mesdames W. Clarke and C. Mangin, and Mr. Wepehihama. Amongst those present were Mesdames H. McCaskill, W. Clarke, Price, Sisarich, McLean, Anstis, Priest, Mangin, Marsh, Coe, Barry, Misses R. C. and E. Clarke, P. Crowe, M. arid I. Pollard, M. and I. Hartigan, C. Pugh, M. and H. Hedgeman, M. Hall, P. McCullum, D. Foley, B. Coe, J. Johnson, K. Laverty, S. and H. Crook and J. Anstis.
’ The Stratford Golf Club held a bridge evening at .the club house on Friday. The room was attractively arranged with bowls of chrysanthemums and ferns. Mrs. J. C. Allen, wife of the president', wore a frock of saxe blue lace. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Allen, Mr. and Mrs. J. Boon, Mr, and Mrs. L. Sole, Mr. and Mrs. J. Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. L’. Wynyard, Mr. and Mrs. Newell, Mr. and Mrs. Ebbet, Mesdames R. Tyrer, Knewstubb, L. Pope, Misses M. Whittle, Harper, P. Sullivan, M. Malone, Ryan, Messrs. F. Swindell, W. Fastier, G. Paul, N. Green, Rowen, Green, T. O’Leary and Rutherfurd, Mr. and Mrs. B. Watson, Mr. and Mrs. William, Mrs. Price, Misses M. and I. Pollard, Anstis, Hall, Pugh, Major, Moore, Fraser, Adjutant Grice, Lieut. Wyatt.
