NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. FIRST OFFICIAL TRACK MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The first official track championships of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association were held at Petone on Saturday afternoon. The ten miles New Zealand cycle championship was won by R. Ulmer (Wellington), with G. R. Giles (Christchurch) second. A large field contested the 1000 metres championship, which was won by J. Wade (West Coast). M. Byrnes (Auckladn) was leading at the bell lap when his tyre came off and he fell, breaking his collarbone and injuring his ribs. He was taken to the Wellington public’ hospital. The winner of the 1000 metres time trial championship was F. J. Grose (Christchurch) and J. Burk (West Coast) annexed the half mile junior cycle championship.
