INVESTIGATIONS PROCEED CHARLES PRICE AGAIN REMANDED. DEATH OF WOMAN AT WAIPAWA. CROWD AT COURT DISAPPOINTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, March 21. Charles William Price, alias Edwards, indicted on a charge of murdering Evelyn Mary Madden at Argyle East, Waipawa, early in February, appeared before Mr. G. J. L. Hewitt, S.M., at the Napier Police Court this morning and was further remanded until April 11. Detective-Sergeant J. Bickerdike, who appeared for the police, stated that investigations into the case had not been completed. It was certain, however, that the police case would be ready by April 11, to which date he asked that Price be remanded. Mr. S. Averill, counsel for Price, agreed to the request and the remand was granted. A crowd of about 100, mostly men, gathered outside the courthouse and waited for the appearance of Price under escort from the direction of the police station. However, he Was taken to the courthouse early and entered by a side door. He was also escorted away from the courthouse through the back entrance. As a result the great majority of the public were still waiting for his appearance when the case had been dealt with and Price was half-way back to the police station.
