AUROA DISTRICT NEWS

PERSONAL AND GENERAL ITEMS. A meeting of the Auroa Croquet Club was held on Wednesday when there was a good attendance. Mrs. King presided. It was ai*ranged that Tuesdays and Thursdays should be club days and that a competition day be held on March 16. A number of trophies have been promised. Membership is steadily increasing and great interest is taken in the games.

Miss Eileen O’Dea, who is an inmate of the Manaia hospital, recently underwent an operation for acute appendicitis.

Mr. J. M. Deegan is an inmate of Hawera hospital, having undergone an operation.

Mrs. Wilks is spending a holiday as the guest of Mrs. Goodin, Okato. Mrs. Riddick, senr., is renewing old friendships in the district and is the guest of Mrs. P< C. Hall.

Mrs. T. Ross has returned from Nev; Plymouth. Mrs. M. Bourke, Awatuna, is an inmate of Kaponga hospital.
