STRATFORD WINTER SHOW.
The Stratford Winter Show and Poultry Association deserves encouragement in its decision to attempt to carry on. Although at one period the association’s show was eminently successful, the recent difficult times have had their effect on the fixture, and recently it has resulted in a financial loss. The experience was discouraging enough to cause several members of the association to express the opinion that the show should be discontinued, at any rate temporarily. As other speakers pointed out, such a course was regrettable if it could be avoided, as once the continuity was broken it would be doubly difficult to revive it. In face of the rather unfortunate result last year, when bad weather doubtless had a material effect on the attendance, the association has resolved, by a majority of three to one, to try again this year. There are serious difficulties to overcome, not the least of which is the securing of a suitable place in which to hold the show, but where there’s a will there is usually a way, and it is to be hoped that public support will justify the spirit of determination evinced by the association, and its faith in itself.
