TEACHERS’ LIBRARY

SUCCESSFUL YEAR REPORTED. The committee of the Taranaki teachers’ library reports a comparatively successful year of work. Although the amount spent was about half the amount handled a few years ago, the committee had been able to add 52 new books, including the new Education Fellowship’s magazine, “The New Era.” A page containing a list of 90 recent titles had been added to the catalogue and forwarded to all the schools in the province. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £3 12s. The committee thanked the board for its timely grant of £lO, the only other contribution being £2 10s from the' north branch. Thanks were due to Mr. A. Bain, senior inspector, for guidance received during his term as chairman of the committee and for his gift of books upon his departure for Auckland.
