STAGGERING COMMENT MADE.

Dunedin, March 4.

Some rather staggering comments concerning New Zealand by a man who recently returned to England after constant employment here for 12 years are Contained in a letter just received. He states that 40 third-class passengers who accompanied him to England were glad to get away from “The Robber Country,” maintaining that with unjust taxation regulations they were be'ng robbed of everything. The wages tax "'med to be a particularly sore point, ■■they maintained that they received Jiing when idle. They avowed that ay were going to widely advertise New ealand conditions and would influence neir friends not to buy New Zealand produce.
