WAITARA SEASIDE

BEACH IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY. WORKS PROGRAMME DECIDED ON. The monthly meeting of the Waitara Seaside Society was held on Monday night,. Mr. T. Taylor presiding. Members spoke of the assistance rendered to the society by the borough council. The president referred to the visit of the Mayor and deputy-Mayor, and said they were impressed with the work being done. Relative to the tar-sealing of the road it was stated that direct access by car to the beach was of the greatest value, and it was decided to do all possible to bring it about. A sub-committee was appointed to decide on immediate work to be done and on Tuesday Mesrs. T. Taylor, J. W. Hamlin, A. Chadwick, L. Clare and W. H. Nosworthy met at the reserve. They decided that a new path for pedestrians should be laid down parallel with the existing track, that cars should be allowed to park within the reserve on the town side and that the children’s playground should be at the south-western side. It is proposed to remove the swings and again to approach the borough council for the tar sealing of the track through the reserve. The women members of the committee are seeing to rejplacementg Kjhqjaask.
