PROSPECTS OF SPEED GOLDEN WINGS’ GOOD CHANCE. FORM OF THE HORSES REVIEWED. (By “Hurry On.”) Fair fields have accepted for all events on the opening day of the Woodville Jockey Club’s autumn meeting to-day. The field in the Woodville Handicap contains some useful performers while the presence of Heritage in the Sapling Stakes will create considerable interest. The programme opens at 12.15 with the TYRO STAKES. Of £6O. Six furlongs. All 8.11. Daracourt Icier Gold Vein Waitolm Father’s Choice Even Money Muggins Wahine Nul Stroller Pukeko Ekatere Bacchus Marsh Bazaine Count Willonyx Inveresk Vivienne Few of these horses have shown a great deal of form and it is possible that last-minute information may influence the bettor. However, Darecourt showed up in good class hack fields at Trentham and he may carry more support than the consistent Inveresk. 12.55— ORINGI HIGHWEIGHT HANDICAP. Of £BO. One mile and a-qfiarter.

Royal Papa’s good showings in the highweights at Trentham should ensure him plenty of backing. Provided he behaves well at the barrier, Bold Jim might prove dangerous. 1.35—

WOODVILLE HANDICAP. Of £l5O. One mile and a-quarter.

Wanganui running points strongly to the chances of Speed and Eminent, who filled first two places respectively on the second day. Brambletorn has displayed no form this year but Hunting Jay may. stay on better than many expect. If started Bonnie Vale would be the pick of the lightweights. Backers are likely to pin their faith to Speed and Eminent. 2.15- ' '’ ■ SAPLING STAKES.

Heritage’s stylish win at Trentham draws attention to his chances but II Duce, who was second to Heritage on that occasion, may test him. Alchemic, Blue Garter and Hunting Scene have all shown promise while Le Grand has a private reputation. He is a stable mate of Wotan. Heritage, Il Duce and Le Grand may receive most support. 2.55-

RUAHINE HANDICAP. Of £ll5. Six furlongs.

Golden Wings, Souchong, Rin Money and Navaho can all run' out a 'good six furlongs. The form of the last-named at Hawera was good-but on his home track after the recent rain, Golden Wings may claim more supporters. 3.35— .

COUNTY HACK HANDICAP. Of £BO. Six furlongs.'

This is a great field of hack sprinters. Lifeguard has the pace but the final hundred yards may trouble, him. Wasteland is consistent but may find it difficult to concede weight to Ka-tuma and Brown Betty. Coronilla will only have to be prominent while, lower down, Delium, State Bank and Marae Quex are possibilities. The favourites may be Brown Betty, Hatuma and Lifeguard.

4.15KUMEROA HACK HANDICAP. Of £BO. One mile and a distance.

His' recent racing should have improved Werohia, who should be showing form any time now. Round Score and Hunting Bag were in the money at Trentham, while Bonnie Vale and Lapel raced prominently at Hawera last week. King’s Lancer, who has been winning in HawkeXs Bay, might create a surprise. Bonnie Vale, Lapel and Round Score should be prominent at the finish. 4.55—

PRESIDENTS HANDICAP. Of £lOO. Seven furlongs.

Might’s recent track work at Trentham has shown that he is well forward. Navaho raced well at Hawera and should the going be soft Miss Hushabye’s Douro Cup win will not be forgotten. She may claim more supporters than Navaho.
